When we decided to fill in the swimming pool in our backyard I had to first drain the pool. The Little Giant submersible pump worked well. It pumped at 1200 gallons per hour. It took 10 hours to drain the 12,000 gallon pool.
I also used the pump during the torrential rains of 1995. The interior courtyard on the Bahl patio home is 80 percent paved and has two downspouts where rain water drains from the flat roofs. If it rains hard enough or long enough, the courtyard starts flooding. If the standing water in the courtyard gets more than an inch deep, it starts rising about the 4 sliding glass doors. I ran a garden hose over the roof and ran the pump.
